Video and Audio Streaming
First there are two basic types of streaming media, the first is live streaming and the other is on demand streaming.
Live streaming is a broadcast in almost real time of your service or event. This type of streaming requires special servers to handle the amount and speed of data that is transmitted. Many churches and other ministries are broadcasting live sermons and events in real time this way.
On demand streaming is a broadcast of your video or audio message from your website that is stored on your web site. The viewer or listener can listen to the message at any time since it is stored.
These technologies can be used to reach the elderly and infirm at home, or to reach out to the lost throughout the world. Most countries have access to the Internet. Many of the young generation are familiar with and use the Internet in their everyday life. The Internet is an available tool for the unreached countries that are closed to the Gospel either by religion or by government.
Audio streaming uses much less resources than video streaming and is of lower cost than video streaming. The storage size of an audio file is much smaller than a video file. If you have a web site that supports streaming audio, it is very easy and inexpensive to provide this service.
